How we pick
- Up to 9 weather models (ECMWF, GFS, ICON, GEM and high-resolution regional models) blended for every resort, at mid-mountain elevation.
- Each day is scored 30% on the snow surface (new snow, rain, melt-freeze), 25% on base depth, 20% on sun, wind and cold, 15% on lift lines and 10% on more snow coming.
- Crowds come from weekends, school and public holidays in each resort's home markets, passes and powder days.
- Checked every day against SNOTEL snow stations near US resorts. See how the forecasts score.
