Party trips
Bachelor, bachelorette, 21st and milestone birthdays. Pick your dates: every destination is graded on nightlife, what's happening that weekend, and the weather.
How places are graded
- Nightlife: bar density and variety (60%) plus late-night clubs (40%).
- Events: signature yearly events (Mardi Gras, Derby, CMA Fest, SXSW, EDC, Coachella…) plus live concerts within 40 km and pro and college home games in the next three weeks.
- Weather: daytime highs against each place's sweet spot (beach towns want it hotter), share of wet days, heavy rain and wind. Next 16 days use the live forecast; later dates use the same dates over the last three years.
- Beach and pool scene only count when it's warm enough to use them. Value drops when a big event pushes prices up.
- The trip type sets the weights: bachelor leans on nightlife, events and activities; bachelorette on nightlife, pools, spas and food; 21st on nightlife and value; milestone birthdays on food, weather and spas.
- Bad weather caps the overall grade: great bars don't save a washout.
