On a typical beach here, sargassum risk is moderate or higher from May to August, peaks in June and July and is lowest in January, February and December. It varies by beach: Jakes Hotel has the highest typical risk and Golden Shore Resort the lowest. Across the region, average highs run from about 86°F in January and February to 90°F in July, August and September, and the sea from about 79°F to 84°F. Rain is most likely in October and least likely in February and March.
